7//14//09-- At 6:33PM EST, the site was officially declared open and was taken out of maintenance mode. Break out the champagne and sparklers everyone because after almost a year of dark, and empty maintenance mode, we are once more open to the public. Regional:: The countries have just recently opened their borders to immigrants. Many important authority figures have been unresponsive as of late. [hint hint :: Play C a n o n s!!]
Alreia:: A new group of unidentified raiders have been spotted in the northern regions of the Orions range. Their affiliations with the uprising cult known as Diasair is unknown.
Linaria:: Queen Arallell is preparing for a meeting with the Illistrian court. All Linarian and Illistrian court members are welcome.
Numell:: Tidings have been traversing as usual. Daisairian advances have yet to penetrate governmental forces.

JOINING •Our forum is currently under the rating:PG-14.
•Any user name is acceptable when registering as long as it follows the TOS. Upon approval of a character bio however, we ask that you change your display name to that of your characters' name or nickname. [i.e. the user wingzi has a display name of Leyla Falon, the name of their character]
•Please read any and all information regarding the rules, terms of service, and character creation before creating an account. Any account that is left untouched for an extended period of time or is invalid will be deleted at the staff's discretion.
•The staff withhold the right to suspend any registered account or character based on misconduct, a disregard for the rules, or rude behavior. If any account violates the Proboards TOS or the previously mentioned conventions, the account will be terminated.
CONDUCT •All content containing nudity or behavior deemed unsuitable for the general population is not allowed.
•Be respectful to all members and leave your scruples off the site. Be kind to the staff members and courteous to all. No flaming, harassment, or spamming. In all of our best interests, try to treat others how you would want to be treated.
•Adult themes and languages are allowed in moderation. As long as cursing is kept to a minimum and out of the chat box it is acceptable. Any thread containing mature content must contain a notification in said thread's title.
CHARACTER REGISTRATION •A maximum of three accounts/characters are allowed. However, all accounts must be played equally and be active. Exceptions may be made at the staff's discretion.
•All characters must be original. Any form of plagiarism is frowned upon. Characters must also have a celebrity face for their signature. Signatures are mandatory, and must contain a graphic of the character as the desired celebrity. Celebrities may be claimed in the face claim; no sharing of celebrities may occur.
•A character bio must be completed within 7 days of joining. Any bio that is left unfinished for more than 7 days will be deleted and the account terminated. After completion of the bio, a post must be made within 4 days.
•Remember that canon characters must follow the same format as original characters (though keeping in mind the restrictions). As a subtle reminder: canons are essential to the progression of the site!
ACTIVITY •Characters must log in at least once per week. If a member is planning to be gone for over 7 days, whether it be due to vacation, school work, illness, or just a lack of motivation, please leave a thread that states you will be taking a leave of absence for one reason or another in the Notices of Absence board. If an account is left without a notice of a LOA for more than 7 days, then the account will subject to deletion under the discretion of the staff members.
•If a character has not posted in an active role play thread for more than 7 days, the terms stated above will apply and the account will be subject to deletion.
ROLE PLAY •The Land of Illusia® is an intermediate/advanced role play meant for inquiring minds, and those who wish to grow in their writing. It is required to post at least 200+ words when replying to an active thread. The longer the post the better!
•Try to be as literate as possible whenever a post is made. Read over the posts thoroughly to avoid any grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, etc. mistakes. Spell check is available through the proboards server as well as through many internet browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox.
•Absolutely no God Modding, Power Playing, or Mary-Sues are allowed.
[spoiler=God Modding, Power Playing, and Mary-Sues Explained] * God Modding can be defined as taking control of another member's character such as in this situation:
[Saki=] Saki raised her trembling fist with tired arms and slammed down onto Hiroki's arm. She was slightly surprised to see tears streaming down his four year old face, but she cast it aside. Resentment flashed in her brothers eyes as she took the lollipop from him ans licked it smugly.
Instead, you should wait for a response from the other person, so it should end up like this:
[Saki=] Saki glared at her brother licking his lollipop. I wasn't fair. She had wanted that one so much more than the little four-year old. She raised her fist as if to punch him, hesitating only a little bit to reconsider. Was it worth getting grounded? Yes, candy was at stake after all. Her hand came down fast as she started to throw a soft punch at Hiroki.
[Hiroki=] Hiroki saw a large shape looming over him in the shape of his sister. An angry look plastered upon her face, he gazed up at her with his large baby eyes and munched on the sweet sugar in his mouth. The punch was a bit of a shocker to him, and he felt the pain before he could recognize it. Tears started to well up in his eyes, and in another minute, he was crying and waving his lolli around frantically. He glared at his sister with resentment in his eyes.
This of course is much shorter than we expect YOU to post. But you get the idea.
* Power Playing is defined as having an insanely invincible character, such as a character that never gets hurt, or is constantly coming out of fights or battle as the victor. A character has to lose sometimes right? Though similar to a Mary-sue it is, Power Playing is especially nasty due to it's ability to happen only once or twice, so watch it! Take from this extremely bad example.
[Saki=] Saki raised her dagger, mustering all the strength she could, the heaviness of her muscles already setting in. She slammed her weight down on the 6 inches of lightweight steel, aiming for the much smaller boy's arm.
[Hiroki=] Hiroki felt the blade slide right past his right arm. Swiveling around, he jumped like an eagle into the air, his eyes cold as ice. He grasped his own dagger in hand, watching as it gleamed in the sunlight. It was, after all, handed down to him by the gods themselves, with magic running through its very blade. Pouncing into action, he emerged from the cloud line, ready to hit the older girl until she was dead: a none-too-hard feat for him.
*A Mary Sues is any type of character that is too perfect or indestructible. They are really easy to create, and I'm sure at once point or another we've all been guilty of a little sue-hap. So, in regards to everybody's role playing experience please stop, and think about the character that you are creating before you submit the bio. Ask questions like, "could this character exist in the real world?" and "are the strengths and weaknesses of my character equal?". If you have any further concerns about Mary-sues, be sure to visit the FAQ page.[/spoiler]
•Stay in character at all times when posting in active role plays. Any deviation from context should be enclosed within brackets [] or parentheses () and kept to a minimum.
•It is advised to place a thread heading when beginning a thread by posting the intended plot of the thread, characters involved in the thread, date, mood, music, etc. While this is not required, it is strongly recommended.
ADVERTISEMENT •If interested in advertising or affiliating, we ask that you view the affiliation thread. We also have a board for advertisements that is accessible to all.
•Our site image MUST be in an easy to view location in order for us to take any actions regarding affiliation. Side table slots must have our image up before being placed.
•Any member caught spamming, or advertising through mass PM's without permission may be deleted at the staff's discretion.
GRAPHICS •Any image that expands the page whatsoever will be take down.
•Signatures are required, and should not exceed 500x500px. They must contain a picture of your character (no drawings) and a played-by tag.
•The trick to the rules is to bold the second letter of your name. If this is not done, we will assume you have not read the rules and your bio or any other form will be denied until the correction is made. If the rules are not signed in the contract thread by seven days, the account will subject to deletion under the discretion of the staff members.
